A fresh take on STEAM

Founded in Fall 2022, Build Your Future aims to increase student engagement and retention by connecting coursework to community impact.

This work was inspired by ten years of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) advocacy. I encountered bright, hopeful students armed with the grades and test scores to achieve prestige. But they were hungry to discover meaning, identify their values, and understand the role of education in their contribution to the world.  Our students deserve to be motivated by impact, not just achievement. They deserve to know that they can apply their skills to building the world that they want to see. Build Your Future was created to fill that gap in the curriculum.
